John Monday, CEO

Short Bio

Hello, my name is John Monday. I was born and raised in Orange County, California. At the age of 18, I joined the Marine Corps, where I served my country for four years. During my service, I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where I met my wife, who was also a Marine. We have been happily married for nearly 20 years and are blessed with two wonderful children, Cambria (11) and Odin (10).

While in the Marine Corps, I pursued an associate degree in Fire Science Management, which led me to a career in emergency medical services. For 15 years, I worked as a firefighter paramedic at Camp Pendleton Fire Department. It was there that I met my current business partner, Michael Flora, and together we founded Stars and Stripes Real Estate.

In 2011, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Management, and I recently completed a digital marketing bootcamp through UC Berkeley. In 2022, I decided to resign from the fire department to dedicate more time to our business and to help more people through our real estate services, while also spending more quality time with my family.

In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, birdwatching with my wife, and engaging in community activities.

Mike Flora, COO

Short Bio

Hello, my name is Michael Flora. I was born and raised in Fresno, CA, until the age of 19, when I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving for four years. Following my time in the Marine Corps, I pursued a career in emergency medical services, obtaining my EMT and then Paramedic License. For 16 years, I served as a paramedic firefighter at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Fire Department.

During my time as a paramedic firefighter, I co-founded Stars and Stripes Real Estate with my business partner, John Monday. We established the company to provide homeowners in Southern California with a quick, hassle-free way to sell their homes for cash. Eventually, I resigned from the fire department to dedicate more time to our growing business and to enjoy more moments with my family.

I have been happily married to my wife, Michele, for 12 years. We have two wonderful children, Brody, age 9, and Skyler, age 12. Our family currently resides in Temecula, CA. In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, spending time with my family, and supporting local kids' sports programs.

Are there any fees or commissions to work with you?

When you work with Stars and Stripes Real Estate, there are NO closing costs, fees, or agent’s commission to sell your house to us. We provide you with an offer and, if it’s a fit, we’ll buy your house and pay for the closing costs, too.

How are you different from a traditional real estate agent?

Real estate agents list properties and try to entice the right buyer into making an offer. Once the sale is made, they charge you a percentage of the price (which can be as high as 3-6% of the sale price of your house). If you have the time, patience, and money to sell with a traditional agent and possibly make more money on the list price, this route is for you. But if you would prefer a no-hassle sales experience, we can help. We don’t list houses, we are the ones buying the house from you. And because we pay with our own money we can make a decision to buy your property within a couple of days, no matter what the condition.

Do you pay fair prices for properties?

When we purchase a house, we are looking to get a fair discount on the property.
